O' Adorable Father

O Adorable Father,
Infinite I AM,
Fountain of all being,
silent as the lamb,
In Thee all thought begins,
in Thee all dreams arise,
Thy whisper forms the mountains,
Thy gaze sustains the skies.

Amiable Son, Beloved made manifest,
Thy form the vision cradled in the Father’s breast;
The Sacred Heart within Thee,
love’s creative flame,
Beats forth the state assumed,
and calls it by its name.

O holy union, thought and shape as one,
The Father unseen shining through the Son;
In every form made real,
Thy mystery we trace,
The I AM revealing Its own
reflected face.

So let my heart, O Lord of inward light,
Burn with the same assurance through the deepest night;
Till what I hold in love,
by faith’s sure art,
Becomes in outward glory what first it was in heart.
