Adore God

Jesus and Judas

A Dialogue within the Soul

Jesus:
I am the Light that shineth still,
the lamp within thy secret place.

Judas:
I am the shadow that draweth near,
casting doubt upon thy grace.

Jesus:
I speak, and troubled waters rest,
their waves lie hushed at My command.

Judas:
I stir remembrance of the storm,
and bind thy heart to shifting sand.

Jesus:
I am the Bread that doth not fail,
the wine that maketh glad the soul.

Judas:
I am the hunger unappeased,
the cup that drains yet leaves thee cold.

Jesus:
I call thee forth, though bound in grave,
to walk in life made new again.

Judas:
I press the stone upon the door,
and whisper, hope is vain.

Jesus:
I am the Shepherd seeking thee,
nor shall I lose the one I love.

Judas:
I am the echo of thy fear,
that saith, thou art not worthy of.

Jesus:
I am the Vine, and thou the branch,
abiding here thy fruit shall grow.

Judas:
I am the frost upon the bloom,
that nips before the blossoms show.

Jesus:
Yet even so, My word abides,
and turneth night to dawning fair.

Judas:
And I, though false, must bow to this:
thy love shall answer every snare.
